5 key lessons to be learned from Chandrayan-3's triumph

1.      Teamwork: "United we stand, divided we fall."- John Dickinson

In the wake of the resounding success of Chandrayan III-, one could observe a splendid glow of contentment and pride beaming on the face of ISRO Chief, S. Somnath. He was accompanied by the other topmost, visionary scientist leaders of diverse teams who stood together in unity. The hall was packed with eminent scholars and scientists. Their positive and indelible aura cast a spell and mesmerized every Indian glued to their television screen or their mobile devices. Indians worldwide were over the moon to learn about the triumphant launch of the Indian spacecraft on the moon. The scientists were on cloud nine and depicted their relentless efforts over four years as fruitful and they were as happy as clam as the waves after a high tide.

2.      Woman Empowerment: Gender equality: "Gender equality in STEM: A win for everyone."

In the room of scientists, one’s gaze would alight upon numerous women adorned in Indian attire - sarees and elegant suits, that harmonized exquisitely with the shining ID card displaying ISRO. This echoed the Indian stance. In India, women can make their own destiny and create a niche, and also boldly embrace the different aspects of a woman’s life, by putting in dedication and pitching in the roles that once stood exclusively for the domain of men, transcending gender boundaries. They have empowered themselves and India has proved that the rights and education is equal for both men and woman and each person in a team plays a vital role in missions and accomplishing the goals for the entire country. A symphony of empowerment echoed through the corridors, a testament to India’s unequivocal stance that both genders are entitled to the same rights and opportunities.

3.      Never give up: "Never give up on what you want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than one with all the facts." - Albert Einstein

The Chandrayan-2 mission encountered a setback as it fell short of realizing its multifaced roles. The eminent team of scientists at that time were disheartened and few of them even contemplated relinquishing their esteemed posts. But then later realized that they should try again. They understood that Failures are the pillars of success. In a  crucible of failure, seeds of triumph often take root. The entire ISRO team stalwarts embraced the failure of Chandrayan-2 and geared up to set for the next mission again. Armed with the wisdom gleaned from the previous attempt, the designs were improvised, and the technology and code changed, though some parts and remnants of Chandrayan-2 were reused and woven into future aspects. The budget was reduced by Rs. 363 crores. During the launch of Chandrayan-2, PM Modi graced the event with his presence in the satellite tracking hall of ISRO, but during the launch of Chandrayan-3, he decided to virtually attend it.

4.      Unity in diversity:

The cost of Chandrayan-3 was modest when compared to the exorbitant budget of various Hollywood movies. The successful landing of Chandrayan-3 has created an ever-lasting impression on the denizens of planet Earth. All the Indians irrespective of their caste or creed, or the state they belonged to united and watched the live telecast of the launching of Chandrayaan-3. People of different religions prayed fervently, organized community prayer meetings, and sincerely wished from the core of their hearts for a successful mission. Although people from India belong to different castes, colours, and creeds, and speak different languages, at that time – everyone spoke the same language and expressed the same emotion demonstrating profound unity and nationalism. After the successful launch and moon landing, an exhilarating wave of celebration spread through the populace and people danced to drum beats in the streets. it was an exhilarating experience for everyone. Chandrayaan-3's success instilled an infectious surge of patriotism, uniting all Indians under a single banner of achievement. The momentous event transformed the Indians into a closely-knit family.

5.      Patriotism:

A large majority of Indian youth pursue academics and career opportunities abroad taking into consideration the tag of developed nations with a better lifestyle. This leads to brain drain. Many talented youths have left India to settle abroad. However, it is imperative that Indians should nurture a sense of pride in institutions like ISRO, that are doing path-breaking work. This kind of achievement showcases India is amongst the top nations in Space technology and the young scientists and engineers should stay put in India and use their creativity to achieve more such feats. All those aspiring to go and settle in other countries should understand that you have the capability to take India to new heights and zenith. The age of 'brain drain' must gracefully cede to an era of 'brain rain', a torrential downpour of innovation, creativity, and ingenuity that revitalizes India's landscape.

Conclusion

This journey encapsulated not just scientific approach and progress but the indomitable tenacity of the human spirit, a beacon of light for all the citizens of India as well as the world to behold.

Beauty or the right temperament - what matters for success in life?

Outer appearances are sometimes deceptive; hence it is important to understand the concept of beauty and its significance. Many people are beautiful due to the genes passed on to them by their parents and forefathers. Their inherited beauty is a gift to them at the time of birth with no contribution from them in achieving that, however many a time because of their attractive personality and pleasant looks, they would be benefitted either in their workplace or in general.

It is human nature to get enticed and attracted by the outward beauty and good looks of a person. It is commonly preached in educational institutes that no one should discriminate on the basis of outer appearance and it should not overshadow the actual ability of a person, but this remains in principle and is not followed in reality. As they say – “Never judge a book by its cover” but there is a higher percentage of the human society who is theoretically agreeing with this statement but practically miles away from this ideology.

The psychology of mind and temperament can make or break the overall personality of an individual resulting in growth and acceptance in society. Having extremely good looks but an unruly way of expressing thoughts and emotions in a loud, harsh, impolite manner could create a sense of unacceptance or repulsive behaviour from the listener and later lead to vast drifts between the communicators (speaker and the listener). In general, people would not take it positively and silently start drifting away and parting ways from such beautiful but obnoxious individuals. The tone and manner of communication matter a lot along with a decent, kind and compassionate tone and gestures. Temperament and behaviour should be relaxed and progressive instead of unruly and regressive. Time and again we have seen beauty brings with it a certain arrogance which can make the person a narcissist and instead of attracting a large number of people they become isolated and alone.

People who are successful in life are sincere, humble, down to earth, and mostly attached to their roots. Only gorgeous looks cannot make us touch the skies and reach the zenith, but along with that if the thoughts are lovely and with deep meaning – it can create a unique positive spirit and aura in the individual’s persona. Everyone can learn from the life of people who are successful and have created a niche for themselves in this crowded world with their skills, innovative ideas and being different. We can make amendments to our skill set,  temperament, and disposition. If you believe that every phase of life could be utilized in enhancing and sharpening our thoughts, then introspect yourself and try to inculcate the good values in yourself that you desire to see in others. The temperament of a person should be a positive one if one wishes to be respected in the sphere where you work in. We should observe and understand the behaviour of people around us and take cues on what is appropriate and try to improve ourselves to be a better version. In an effort to keep improving, it is important to be a good listener and understand the real meaning of what people say. It is said that “If speaking is silver, listening is golden”. Temperament showcases the inner beauty of an individual and makes it shine and glitter like a diamond which is appreciated by everyone.

They also say that do not call a spade a spade. Be polite and express your contradictory views about any situation in a diplomatic way in such a way that you are not offending anyone’s emotions.  These days everyone wants to be praised. The world is such that if anyone posts a picture or any information on social media, they are keen for likes and hearts. But no one would accept anything against it nor the dislikes or any other emoji that can hurt their emotions. So, the crux of the topic is to have an inner beauty that will be paired with a balanced mindset and optimistic behaviour in turn enhancing the outer beauty too with a radiance and glow of confidence as well as a behaviour that is respectful towards others.

Can you imagine a day without amazing machines?

Our day starts by picking up milk and newspaper at the door, delivered by people by first using bikes🚴‍♂️ or cycles🚴‍♀️ and later the elevator. We drink water 💦purified by a machine. Then we warm the water using a microwave. We then switch on the geyser before stepping into the shower🚿 if it’s too cold❄. We use a press to iron our clothes👚 and get ready for going to the workplace. Then we hop in a vehicle🚗 to head to our workplace. We use automated vending machines for beverages🧃. The office is equipped with an air conditioner. We work on laptops💻 and in our free time scrolling through the phone📱, both of which are machines. Internet is accessed by wifi and modem router. We then return home🏠 and cook food🍜 for the next day. Atta maker machine to make dough with which rotis and paranthas 🥘are made. Vegetables are chopped, and the curry is made🥔🥕🥗. After a tiring day, we switch on the fan and doze off😴. Every day we use so many machines and don’t even realize it. We should be grateful to God🙏 for all that we have.
