High heels or Flats

Want to look chic, glamourous and fashionable, then wear high heels. Don't bother about looks and are okay with Auntyji type image then,  wear flats. True or false?

Here I recall a song sung by Noorie "Nachatra liya de ve ucchi addi de boot", literally meaning get me high heeled shoes. Nowadays a lot of variety is available in ladies shoes. Mothers, offices, lecturers, teachers, doctors who work whole day prefer to wear flats so that there is less stress on the foot. Feet handle the weight of the entire body and are the most stress bearing part of the body.

High heels, though look very glam-sham. Other advantage is that the perception of a persons height is increased and the lady looks taller. Wow, thanks to heel even a short lady can look taller due to the high heeled shoes.

Flat shoes are relaxing. Shoes from Liberty, Dr Scholls and Hush Puppies are a blessing for working women, pregnant women. The soles are very comfortable and soft, and feet feel pampered in the shoes.

As far as scientific and health point of view, the entire weight of the body is born by the feet. So if whole day one wears high heels then the evenings will be painful as the foot pains sometimes swell.

If you are a perfect high heel wearer, then it is fantastic several studies have shown that in the long run, the feet are likely to protrude on one side. There will be disformation of the bones. It is the truth.

So ladies what do you think?

In my opinion Flat heels keep your feet in good condition and should be worn most of the times and high heels can be worn on some special occassions like weddings etc.

Spectacles or Contact lens

Vision is GOD's gift. But sometimes, while reading, if the body posture is not good, then the eye sight becomes weaker. Not eating nutritious food also leads to weakening of eye sight.

So what are the options available to us once our eye sight is weak?

The first option is to wear spectacles which make our vision near perfect. Go to a shop which deals with glasses, select a frame as per choice and budget and get the glasses made as per the vision check done at the shop itself. Now all shops have advanced machines which can check the vision accurately and there is no need to go to a Doctor first.

Wearing glasses solves the eye weekness, however there are drawbacks with this solution. Since the need to wear glasses is for a long duration the spectatcles can cause impression on the sides of our temptles, thus causing headaches as well at times. In summer time the drops of perspiration can drop on the glasses making them messy and impairing our vision. There is constant need of cleaning the glasses in summer due to this reason. Similar to this problem the glasses become foggy in rainy/humid weather and also during cold environment like air conditioned rooms. If you have small kids they also love to pull the glasses time and again causing you irritation and discomfort. While driving it is not possible to wear shades, however an option in form of shades is available which can fit on top of the glasses.

Wearing contact lenses is another option. However, wearing contact lenses has it's own disadvantages - like they need to be inserted into the eye every day and taken out in the night before sleeping. Handling the lenses is a big project as they are very thin and can fold very easily. It is required to put some lubricating eye drops once or twice in a day to avoid dryness and itchiness of the eye. While wearing lenses it is very dangerous to rub eyelids in case or irritation or tiredness due to sleep.

Both these solutions of wearing glasses or lenses are having disadvantages which are quite irritating for a person who has to wear these during entire daytime. A better option is to prevent this weekness to come in the first place by eating good healthy food which promotes good eye health for example: carrots and grams. Don't put extra stress on eyes by reading in good light and with correct body and head posture. Do some yogic exercises for strengthening of eye muscles and relaxation of eyes.
