Visit to a dairy farm
Greetings!
Today, I am going to tell you
all about my visit to a dairy farm. When we are told the word ‘farm’: we
picture a Brobdingnagian green expanse, adorned by flowers and fruits, inhabited
by herds of cows, buffaloes, and sheep: the green grass swaying in the cool
breeze. The word ‘dairy farm’ has a completely different meaning. A dairy farm
is a place where the milk shipped from another location is purified and
converted into various dairy products.
This might have given you the idea
that a dairy farm is like a factory full of machines and folk who operate those
machines. In dairy farms, the process of manufacturing is: Raw milk à Quality assessment
à Sampling à Temperature control à Pasteurisation
à Heat treatment à Homogenization and mixing à
Fermentation, and, culturing à Processing dairy products.
In the dairy farm I visited, they
manufactured milk, ice cream, curd, flavored milk, lassi, and cottage cheese-
our all time favorite. They offered us a bottle of flavored milk and a 50 ml
ice cream cup. Let’s explore a few of the processes recorded live by me:
